About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Engineer to join our team at Trading212. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing and maintaining our highly scalable microservice architecture that supports our core trading platform. Your responsibilities will encompass designing, coding, testing, deploying, and monitoring software solutions that meet our performance, resilience, and security standards. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and translate them into robust technical solutions. This position offers a unique opportunity to influence the architecture of a complex financial system, ensuring it remains resilient, performant, and adaptable to future growth. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have substantial experience developing services within a microservice architecture, ideally within a high-volume, performance-critical environment. A solid understanding of communication protocols such as HTTP, WebSockets, and AMQP is essential, along with proficiency in at least one web framework across different programming languages. Deep knowledge of relational database management systems, including indexing, transactions, and performance optimization, is required. Familiarity with in-memory databases like Redis or Memcached and ongoing or completed computer science education will be considered advantageous. The candidate should demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, the ability to work independently within autonomous teams, and a passion for building reliable, scalable systems.
Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive solutions by understanding the full scope of business problems, service architecture, and underlying technologies, ensuring holistic problem-solving approaches.
- Engage in the entire software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, system design, coding, testing, deployment, and monitoring. Maintain full ownership of your codebase, refactoring and optimizing as needed to uphold quality standards.
- Create solutions optimized for performance, scalability, and resilience, ensuring minimal downtime, latency, and data loss in a demanding environment.
- Collaborate within small, autonomous, and agile teams that operate with short release cycles, emphasizing high velocity and adaptability while maintaining quality and compliance.
