Position Summary
The Technical Leader APAC leads the technical operations in the region, focusing on material selection advice, CAPA support, new material validation and team development. I ncluding advising customers and sales on packaging solutions; managing the Singapore experience lab, sourcing and validating new materials. Coaching and training of the Technical FTEs as well as putting together comprehensive training programs for APAC colleagues to maintain and enhance technical expertise.

Primary Responsibilities
Technical Services pre and post market
- Provide expertise in material selection and package design of sterile barrier systems to support new sales growth and customer retention.
- Travel domestically and regionally to support our sales team in the field including trial runs, troubleshooting customer processes and technical selling activities.
- Help train the sales team with respect to customer application, material and design aspects, sterilization modes and create tools to make these teams more self-reliant
- Support the manufacturing QA department with technical assessment of CAPA investigations.
- Help to manage product change notifications for customers.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Singapore Technical Experience lab to ensure KPIs re sample making and customer response times are met
Innovation and product development
- Working with product management to identify, test and validate regionally sourced materials
- Collaborating with Global R&D team on New Product Innovation (NPIs) testing and development
- Developing and overseeing activities impacting customer expectations and technical documentation
- Collaborates with sales, marketing, and manufacturing to develop new materials, products, and processes for the Medical Packaging Market
Team leadership and development
- Lead the Technical Services team in APAC (2FTE)
- Recruiting, training, mentors, and evaluating the performance of team members to foster a high-performing team
- Encouraging job performance improvement by assigning challenging projects and supporting diverse experiences
- Developing and implementing a departmental succession plan to support career growth and promote internal talent
- Cultivates a culture of creative technical innovation by fostering new ideas and initiatives
- Directs day-to-day activities of the team and ensures alignment with organizational goals
Collaboration & communication
- Acting as a liaison between Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality and customers to manage quality expectations and product performance at customer facilities
- Thought leadership demonstrating Oliver’s brand of best-in-class technical service through public speaking at conferences, customer lunch & learn events, webinars/seminars and authoring publishable white papers

Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- A bachelor’s degree, with an advanced degree preferred
- At least 7 years of experience in a technical role within a related industry, along with in-depth knowledge of adhesives
- A minimum of 5 years in a leadership position, managing personnel, is required
- Prior experience with coating equipment and processes, as well as materials research
- Experience in the medical packaging market and understanding of printing and converting applications
Special Requirements
The role involves frequent client visits, as well as prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, along with occasional travel attending trade fairs and exhibitions.

- Possessing strong interpersonal skills
- Comfortable presenting to groups of 2–50 people in both live and virtual settings, and effectively communicating through face-to-face, phone, and virtual meetings
- Able to analyze and interpret various documents, such as data, safety manuals, operating instructions, and procedures
- Skilled in managing teams, resolving conflicts, and fostering collaboration
- Capable of traveling internationally and working outside of office hours when needed
- Fluent in English and (optionally) one other language used in the APAC region, both orally and in writing
