About The Role
We are seeking a skilled Freelance Backend Developer with over four years of experience to join our dynamic team on a contract basis. In this role, you will be instrumental in laying the foundational backend architecture for a new consumer gaming and app venture. Your primary responsibilities will include designing and implementing secure user account systems, managing user and profile data, enabling shared account functionalities across multiple applications, and supporting subscription and membership features. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in backend development, particularly within cloud environments, with AWS being the preferred platform. This position offers flexible remote work arrangements, part-time hours, and a contract tenure of approximately 3.5 months, with potential for extension based on project needs.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 4+ years of professional experience in backend development.
- Proficiency in API development and backend system architecture.
- Hands-on experience with backend stacks such as Node.js, Python, Java, or Go.
- Strong knowledge of database systems including PostgreSQL, MySQL, DynamoDB, or MongoDB.
- Experience implementing authentication and authorization mechanisms, including JWT and session management.
- Familiarity with AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, API Gateway, Cognito, and CloudWatch.
- Understanding of REST API design, security best practices, and scalable system architecture.
- Ability to work independently in an early-stage startup environment, demonstrating problem-solving skills and initiative.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy robust backend architecture and APIs for a consumer gaming/application platform.
- Create secure user registration, login, authentication, and profile management systems.
- Implement shared account functionalities across multiple applications to enhance user experience.
- Design and optimize databases for storing user data, application data, and subscription/membership information.
- Manage deployment, monitoring, and scaling of backend services on AWS to ensure high availability and performance.
- Collaborate with frontend developers and product teams to align backend functionalities with user requirements.
- Ensure security best practices are followed to protect user data and prevent vulnerabilities.
- Support MVP development with scalable solutions, laying the groundwork for future growth and feature expansion.
