Job Purpose
To communicate with befrienders and beneficiaries of the ElderAid. Liaise with the befrienders, beneficiaries and community stakeholders to establish and maintain an effective befriending programme.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist in strengthening SRC’s role in the local community, specifically in the Red Cross Community Hub.
- Work closely with Sr/Executive of the ElderAid programme and Dy/Head on the development and progression of the befriending programme in the various districts.
- Collaborate with grassroots, government and non-government agencies on the development and management of both the befrienders and the beneficiaries.
- Provide quality and personalized one-stop information services for clients and community stakeholders.
- Support training of befrienders to strengthen and equip them with the necessary skills and knowledge.
- Equip volunteers with adequate proficiency skills in the “Befriending of the Elderly” inthe community.
- Ensure timely update of all information.
- Coordinate with Programme Manager and relevant District Managers for the follow up of the client(s).
- Plan and carry out local engagements for the volunteers in collaboration with the relevant District Managers.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Qualifications And Experience
- Relevant Diploma from a recognised institution or;
- Relevant Nitec Certificate from the Institute of Technical Education.
- At least 2 years working experience in volunteer management is preferred.
- Experience working in healthcare or with the elderly, would be advantageous.
Additional Skills And Knowledge
- Good command of both spoken and written English.
- Bilingual in English and a local language or dialect.
- Computer literate.
