Are you looking to take your career to the next level and be a part of a dynamic, bootstrapped SaaS scale-up company? We are looking for a responsible and driven DevOps engineer to join us in our efforts to reach our dream of a world where all mechanical products perform flawlessly, reliably, and efficiently, under real-world conditions from launch to end-of-life.

The Mission

We help companies that can’t afford to get it wrong make better engineering design decisions. We do this through consulting, software, and ventures, strengthening how mechanical R&D teams think, design, and deliver. We work towards a world where Robust Design is no longer niche, but the expectation.

We have created a unique Engineering Ecosystem encapsulating knowledge sharing, training, documentation, and innovative software solutions.

We service R&D, Operations, and Manufacturing organizations with digital tools, process integration, and implementation services, making sustainable innovation operational, systematic, and scalable, in any industry.

Our customer portfolio already includes multiple global industry giants, and with more knocking on our door every day, we are looking to grow.

The Software

At the heart of the Ecosystem is the Software. Our web platform enables product professionals to manage and execute every aspect of their mechanical designs, using established robust design principles, in a new, fresh, and user-friendly way.

The platform is primarily built with TypeScript and runs on Google Cloud.

  • Infrastructure is managed using Terraform.
  • Frontend, we use React with MUI and Apollo.
  • Backend, we have a slew of Node services, the primary one being our GraphQL API.
  • The platform is powered by a geometry engine written in C++.

The Team

RD8 is composed of two companies: Technology and Consulting. You will be joining Technology, which currently consists of a CEO, geometry/algorithm developers, and web developers. The group shares a sales team with Consulting. The Consulting team consist of around 30 employees, mainly mechanical engineers who support Technology with SME competence and Customer Succes.

The collaboration between the two companies is part of what makes RD8 so special, we have subject matter experts side-by-side with software developers, always exchanging ideas and perspectives on how to create the best possible user experience.

In general, the teams are quite young, and we really enjoy spending time with each other, including after office hours.

We have monthly social events in addition to the more typical seasonal ones. All things social are of course completely optional, but we hope you will join in!

What you will be doing

You will spearhead the DevOps aspect of the RD8 Product Development Platform, driving performant services and foreseeing future bottlenecks as we scale our userbase. You will be responsible for monitoring and improving our cloud environments, our CI/CD pipelines and test setups, as well as our local development workflows. Finally, we expect you to take responsibility for maintaining our security posture and compliance efforts, for which we use modern compliance management tools. Our customers entrust us with their most valuable assets, their CAD files, so it is incredibly important that we take good care of them.

Ideally, you will also find joy in developing the software itself, so you can help the rest of the team deliver great features to our clients.

What we expect from you

  • Experience with developing and maintaining cloud infrastructure, preferably in GCP using Terraform.
  • Experience with Docker and GitLab CI/CD (or similar, e.g., GitHub Actions).
  • Proficiency with Git and Git workflows.
  • Experience with (or willingness to get familiarized with) data security compliance frameworks such as ISO27001 or similar.
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently, be creative and open for new ideas, and work with high dedication and self-motivation.
  • Solid programming skills in various scripting languages.
  • Bonus points if you have experience with running hybrid solutions (SaaS + on-premise).

What we offer

  • High degree of freedom to decide how to do your work.
  • An attractive warrant program after 1 year of tenure.
  • Possibility for a home office set-up paid by RD8.
  • Monthly social events with occasional longer events.
  • Lunch scheme partly paid by RD8 and free coffee, tea, and snacks at the office.

Our location

Our headquarters is located here: Strandboulevarden 122, 3., 2100 Copenhagen, Denmark

We would like to see you in the office as much as possible, but there is also plenty of flexibility to work from home and at odd hours.
