Under the general direction of the Functional Services Unit (FSU) Manager in Energy Management Systems (EMS), the incumbent serves as a Systems Design Engineer and project leader, conducting engineering studies to develop and enhance Utility Power System Services (UPSS) software applications. This position performs system design, specification preparation, and analysis to ensure applications/systems meet operational standards. Responsibilities include evaluating business and functional requirements, modifying software applications, designing operational logic, and developing testing, maintenance, and training materials/procedures. The incumbent also leads technical support for complex Water and Power Scheduling Software Applications, interacting with California Independent System Operator (CAISO), data transfer, report generation application with graphical user interface development and configurations, and manages the UPSS Asset and Change Management System.
