Hybrid Model is Okay, Could Be Better
Pros: The hybrid model at Brookfield is decent. We do 3 days in the Toronto office, which is fine for team collaboration. It's nice to have a dedicated office space for deep work in investment management.
Cons: But the flexibility isn't really there. The specific onsite requirements mean it's not a true choice. For Financial Analyst roles, it can be tough when you have a big deadline and want to focus from home.
Advice to Management: Consider giving employees more actual choice on which days they come into the office, rather than fixed mandates. A little more trust can go a long way for morale, especially for those in specific project-based roles.

Hybrid model is decent, but depends on your team.
Pros: As a Financial Analyst here, the hybrid work setup is pretty solid. You get a few days working from home, which is nice for avoiding the commute in New York, NY. It's a big corporate firm, so there's some structure, but I can usually adjust my hours if I have an appointment.
Cons: It's not truly flexible across the board, though. Some teams are way stricter with the 3 days in-office rule. During busy periods in asset management, you're pretty much expected to be onsite and put in longer hours, which can make that flexibility disappear.
Advice to Management: Try to standardize hybrid policies across all teams. It would help a lot with consistency and employee satisfaction regarding work flexibility.

Decent Place, Work Flexibility Varies a Lot
Pros: As an Investment Analyst, I appreciate the opportunity to work in global asset management. The hybrid work model in the Toronto office is okay, usually 3 days in office. It's nice not to be fully onsite every day, which helps a bit.
Cons: Work flexibility isn't consistent across all teams, which is a real pain. Some senior leaders expect you in daily, making personal appointments tough. It's not truly flexible, more of a mandated hybrid schedule for many financial services roles.
Advice to Management: Try to standardize the work-from-home policy across all groups. It would really help with morale and reduce confusion about expectations for employees, especially in our corporate environment.
