Work-Life Balance is Decent, But Has Its Moments
Pros: The hybrid model helps a lot for Software Engineers like me. I appreciate the flexible start times; it really aids my personal schedule. You can usually manage your 40-hour weeks when projects are calm.
Cons: Deadlines for new tech solutions can get really tight, making overtime unavoidable. Sometimes I felt pressure to stay late, especially in our Kuala Lumpur office. It's tough when projects ramp up and you're scrambling.
Advice to Management: Try to better manage project scopes to avoid last-minute crunch times for the engineering team. More clear boundaries on after-hours communication would also help maintain work-life balance.

Job Security Is Decent, But Keep An Eye Out
Pros: They do have a core product, which helps anchor things. As a Software Engineer, you're always learning new tech stacks on different projects. There's usually enough software development work to go around in the Kuala Lumpur office.
Cons: Job security can feel a bit tied to project cycles. When a big project ends, you sometimes worry if there's enough new work. It's not a huge startup, but it's not big tech either, so market changes hit harder.
Advice to Management: Try to build a stronger pipeline of ongoing projects to reduce that 'project end' anxiety for your Software Engineer roles. More transparency on future plans would help too.

Okay flexibility, but room for improvement
Pros: The team here is solid, especially in the Kuala Lumpur office. You do get decent benefits, and the projects in software development are usually pretty engaging. There's a good learning curve if you're proactive.
Cons: Work flexibility is tough. They push for onsite pretty heavily; remote work options are very limited even for Software Engineer roles. It's not a true hybrid work setup, more like 'come in unless you absolutely can't'. That can make work-life balance a challenge.
Advice to Management: Seriously look into more flexible work arrangements, especially for experienced Software Engineer roles. Many of us in the tech industry expect genuine hybrid work, not just lip service. It would really help with employee retention and morale.
