Okay balance, but some late nights at Agilis
Pros: The team is really collaborative, which is great for learning. We have pretty decent WFH days built into the hybrid work model. For a robotics startup, there's good exposure to advanced tech and you learn a lot quickly as a Software Engineer.
Cons: Sometimes, deadlines for new robot features meant really long hours. It's not always a consistent 40-hour week, especially when you're deep in AI development. You can feel the pressure of being a smaller company trying to compete.
Advice to Management: Try to manage project timelines better to avoid those intense crunch periods for engineering teams. More predictable schedules would really help with employee retention in the Boston office.

Leadership has some bright spots but needs work
Pros: Some of the project leads are genuinely smart. They really know their stuff in robotics development and it's great learning from them as a Robotics Engineer here. You get to work on cutting-edge tech.
Cons: Overall leadership consistency is tough in this startup environment. There's often conflicting direction, especially for us working on AI algorithms. It can feel a bit chaotic, and decision-making can be slow or get overturned.
Advice to Management: Try to get everyone on the same page. Clearer roadmaps and less last-minute changes would make a huge difference, especially for those in robotics development.

Agilis Robotics has some cool tech projects.
Pros: As a Robotics Engineer, I got to work on some cutting-edge projects in the robotics industry. The teams are smart, and you learn a lot quickly if you're willing to dive in. It's a fast-paced environment for people who like that.
Cons: Job security isn't the best here. Projects can shift fast, and there's not always a clear long-term plan, which is tough for job security. I worried about layoffs for Robotics Engineer roles when funding rounds were tight.
Advice to Management: Focus on clearer communication about project longevity and financial stability. That would really help reduce anxiety around job security for the team.

Okay Place for Robotics, Culture Needs Work
Pros: I really liked the small team dynamic. As a Robotics Software Engineer, I got to work on some cool, cutting-edge **robotics development** projects. The pay was competitive for the **Boston office**, which was a big plus.
Cons: The **company culture** felt a bit chaotic and not very supportive. There's a lot of pressure, and work-life balance isn't really a priority. Leadership often changed directions, which was frustrating for day-to-day work, especially in a **startup environment**.
Advice to Management: Focus more on creating a stable and supportive work environment. Clearer communication from leadership would help a lot, especially regarding project goals and long-term vision. Don't burn out the engineers.
