Pros: I've been a Software Engineer working remote from Dallas, TX for a couple years now. The work-life balance here is actually pretty decent most of the time. You get good flexibility, which is great for managing personal stuff without too much stress.
Cons: However, when we have big deadlines or new P2P software releases, it can get intense. You'll definitely put in more than 40 hours during those crunch periods. That part can make a solid work-life balance tough to maintain.
Advice to Management: Try to better manage project scopes to avoid constant crunch times. It's hard for us remote employees to feel truly balanced when we're always pushing extra hours.
