Okay Place, Culture Needs Some Work
Pros: The people are genuinely nice, especially within my immediate engineering team. Remote work is solid, which is great for my work-life balance here in Denver. The mission in health tech is pretty inspiring for a startup.
Cons: It feels cliquey sometimes; new hires can struggle to connect. There's not much in terms of remote social events, so company culture for a health tech startup feels a bit fragmented. Communication from leadership isn't always clear, which impacts team cohesion.
Advice to Management: Invest more in remote team building and clearer communication. Help bridge the gaps between different teams to make the health tech startup feel more united and less siloed.

Okay balance for tech roles, but it varies
Pros: As a Software Engineer, the remote work flexibility is a huge plus. You can mostly manage your own schedule, which really helps with personal appointments. For many tech roles, the WFH setup means no commute and a decent amount of autonomy.
Cons: Sometimes the workload for digital health projects can get pretty heavy, especially near release dates. There's pressure from leadership to deliver fast, and it can push past a 40-hour week. It's not always consistent, so your work-life balance here is often a moving target.
Advice to Management: Try to smooth out project timelines more. Better resource planning would really help prevent burnout for engineering teams.
