Decent Flexibility for Engineers, Hybrid Model
Pros: I've found pretty good work flexibility as a Software Engineer here. The hybrid model means I can work from home a few days a week, which is huge for my personal life. It's nice not being tied to the Oakland office every single day for tech roles.
Cons: While the WFH option is great, some teams can struggle with scheduling virtual meetings that work for everyone. It feels like the flexibility can depend a lot on your direct manager and specific project deadlines in the music streaming industry.
Advice to Management: Keep pushing for consistent flexibility across all teams, not just tech. Make sure every manager truly supports the hybrid work policies and makes them clear.

Okay for the Music Industry, Career Growth is Slow
Pros: The culture here is pretty chill. You get to work with some really smart people, especially if you're into digital media. The hybrid work model in the Oakland, CA office was a big plus for me.
Cons: Career growth for a Content Strategist is really slow. There aren't many opportunities to move up, and internal promotions are rare. It felt like I was stuck in my role without much room to advance.
Advice to Management: Create clearer pathways for advancement for individual contributors. Invest more in internal development programs to boost career growth.

Pretty Solid Work-Life Balance For My Role
Pros: As a Content Operations Specialist, I really appreciate the work flexibility. I'm mostly hybrid from the Oakland office, but they're cool if I need to work from home sometimes. The PTO policy is generous, which helps manage my personal life well within the digital audio industry.
Cons: When big streaming music launches hit, things definitely get busy. You can expect some long days then, especially since we're part of a bigger ad tech umbrella now. It's not constant, but those crunch times can be tough.
Advice to Management: Keep promoting flexible work for all teams. Try to better plan streaming content launches to reduce last-minute rushes for ops teams.
