Company Reviews

Seven Investment Management (7IM) is an investment management business that helps individuals, their families and advisers to manage their capital to meet their financial needs and aspirations.

We keep our promises, make things clear and simple, fix what’s wrong, do the right thing and accomplish the very, very best job we can.

Discretionary Services
Our service is called discretionary because 7IM has the ‘discretion’ to make investment decisions for you. It combines the discipline and rigour of our uniform investment process with the flexibility of our truly personal service.

Funds
Our risk profiled, multi asset funds are managed with structure, rigour and discipline, whatever your investment needs and aspirations within your appetite for risk. We offer a range of risk profiles to meet your needs whether you're cautious or adventurous.

Model Portfolios
Whatever your attitude to risk, our risk rated, multi asset model portfolios provide a carefully guided investment solution. Each portfolio has been designed and is managed within the appropriate risk tolerance, and for the long term, using a similar asset allocation without the surrounding 7IM fund's wrapper.

Platform and 7IMagine
How you work with our platform and team depends on the demands of your practice. The award winning 7IM Platform is so much more than a simple platform with access to global securities.

You should be aware that the value of investments may go up and down and you may get back less than you invested originally.

Hybrid Model is Okay, But Fixed Schedule
Pros: The hybrid model is a decent step for a mid-sized financial firm. We usually get 2-3 days WFH, which helps a lot with the commute to the London office. For most wealth management roles, this flexibility is a solid improvement over fully onsite.
Cons: However, the hybrid setup is pretty fixed, not truly flexible. It's hard to swap days around if something comes up, especially as a Client Service Representative. It feels more like mandated WFH days rather than real work flexibility.
Advice to Management: Consider offering more fluid hybrid options beyond just fixed WFH days. True flexibility would make a big difference for employee morale and work-life balance.

Work-life balance is decent, but depends.
Pros: As an Investment Operations Analyst, I've found some teams here in the London office do a pretty good job with work-life balance. There's a decent hybrid work setup, so you're not stuck onsite five days a week. It's nice to have that flexibility for personal stuff.
Cons: That said, it really varies. Some project deadlines in the financial services industry can make for really long weeks, especially if you're in a busy operations team. It can be tough to completely switch off, and management doesn't always recognize the extra effort.
Advice to Management: Try to ensure consistent work-life balance across all departments. Recognize and reward teams that put in extra hours during peak periods, and perhaps staff up a bit more for key projects.

Work-life is okay for financial services
Pros: There's some flexibility if you need it, which is good. For investment analyst roles, it's not bad compared to other corporate environment firms. The London office does try to support hybrid work.
Cons: But don't expect easy 40-hour weeks. During busy periods, especially month-end reporting, hours get long. It's typical for the wealth management industry though.
Advice to Management: Try to really enforce reasonable hours during non-peak times. Help us avoid burnout.
