Solid place for a recruitment career in Hong Kong
Pros: The leadership at ConnectedGroup is genuinely supportive. Managers provide excellent mentorship, which is crucial for a Recruitment Consultant in Hong Kong. I've gained so much market knowledge and developed my professional network. The team culture is collaborative, making the high-pressure recruitment industry feel more manageable.
Cons: It's a fast-paced environment, so work-life balance can be a challenge during busy periods if you don't manage your time strictly. The promotion path, while clear, sometimes feels a bit slower than the effort put in.
Advice to Management: Keep fostering the open communication channels and continue to invest in professional development programs. Perhaps explore more structured ways to recognize high performers for faster career progression.

Good Place to Learn and Grow in Recruitment
Pros: I've really enjoyed my time here as a Recruitment Consultant. The team is super supportive, and there are plenty of learning opportunities, especially for new consultants. You get a lot of autonomy, which is great for building client relationships and managing your own pipeline. The company culture is generally positive and collaborative. They really do try to offer a flexible work environment where possible.
Cons: Sometimes the workload can be quite high, especially during peak hiring seasons, which means you're really pushing to meet targets. While flexibility is encouraged, the approval process for specific arrangements can feel a bit slow and requires multiple layers. It's a minor thing, but it could be smoother.
Advice to Management: Focus on streamlining the approval processes for flexible work requests to make them more efficient. Also, perhaps more transparent communication about career progression paths could help manage expectations for new Recruitment Consultants.

Solid culture for sales-driven folks
Pros: The team in the Hong Kong office is pretty tight-knit. There's good camaraderie among the Recruitment Consultants, which helps when you're hitting tough sales targets. Plus, if you're good at what you do in the recruitment industry, the commission structure is quite motivating.
Cons: It's definitely a 'work hard, play hard' kind of place, but sometimes the 'work hard' part takes over. There can be pressure to hit team targets, which sometimes feels like micromanagement. The culture is very sales-focused, so if you're not constantly closing deals, it can feel a bit isolating.
Advice to Management: Try to balance the strong sales focus with more recognition for other contributions. Maybe offer more structured training for new Recruitment Consultants beyond just hitting the phones. This could improve overall morale across the firm.
