Culture can be tough, good for career start
Pros: I met some genuinely great people on my immediate team, which made the daily grind much better. You get exposed to high-level private client work and learn a ton, especially for legal roles straight out of university.
Cons: The firm's culture means long hours are pretty standard, and billable hours are always looming. There's a strong hierarchy, and sometimes it feels like leadership isn't really connected to the junior staff experience in the London office.
Advice to Management: Try to check in more with the junior staff. Find ways to ease the pressure around billable hours and encourage a better work-life balance for everyone, not just the partners.

Leadership has its moments, but needs work.
Pros: Some partners are genuinely great mentors, especially in specific practice areas like private client work. They really push for high-quality legal work, which is good for professional development for aspiring lawyers. The senior associates in the London office are a solid source of guidance.
Cons: Transparency from top leadership, especially the executive committee, isn't always there. It feels like the focus is always on hitting those billable hours targets, sometimes at the expense of associate well-being. Communication about firm-wide changes can be pretty slow for Associate Attorney roles here.
Advice to Management: Improve communication from the top down. Focus more on associate well-being beyond just billable hours pressure.
