Pros: Some senior managers genuinely care about their teams and specifically, us Software Engineers. There's a decent high-level vision for our tech startup that can be inspiring. I've personally seen some solid support for specific projects, especially in the Austin, TX office.
Cons: Consistency is a big problem among mid-level leaders; it's a real hit or miss with direction. Sometimes, there's not enough clear communication from management about overall company strategy for a growing tech company. Work-life balance can really suffer when certain project leads aren't organized.
Advice to Management: Focus on better training for all managers, especially mid-level ones, to ensure consistent communication and support. Clearer strategic direction from the top leadership would also help everyone stay aligned.
