About The Role
As a
Site Design Manager (Contract), you will be overseeing all interior fit-out aspects of project delivery, including coordinating with stakeholders, reviewing contractor submissions and monitoring progress, quality and budget to ensure successful project completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Project / Construction Manager to drive processes throughout construction to completion in fit-out related areas according to tenders, compliances and regulatory standards.
- Coordinate with stakeholders including end users, consultants, government authorities, contractors, suppliers and corporate office on all fit-out matters.
- Review contractors’ interior fit-out submissions and proposals with input from design consultants and corporate office, and manage fit-out coordination issues relating to MEP, structural and architectural works.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure fit-out works adhere to approved drawings, specifications, quality standards and project timelines.
- Monitor progress, budgets and quality of fit-out works, including handling site instructions and variation matters according to standard procedures.
- Manage project close out including snagging, testing, handover process and ensuring full set of as-built drawings, O&M manuals and warranty documentation are in place and handed over to end users.
- Support Project / Construction Manager on project administration, documentation and reporting in accordance with Department and Corporate requirements.
About You
- Degree in Interior Design, Building Services, Construction Management or related discipline.
- At least 10 years of relevant experience in managing large-scale interior fit-out projects, preferably in Hotel or high-end commercial projects in Hong Kong.
- Experience in fit-out works in existing buildings, phased renovation projects in operating business environments and coordination with frontline operations.
- Familiar with local building regulations, Hotel licensing requirements and Standard Form of Contract, with solid understanding of local construction practices and site coordination.
- Familiar with Shangri-La Group project development standards, reporting structures and operational requirements would be a distinct advantage.
- Strong knowledge in interior detailing, finishes, materials, quality control and coordination across architectural, MEP and structural interfaces.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project and AutoCAD (for reviewing drawings), with good understanding of time and cost control, handling variations and contractor coordination.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, problem-solving skills.
- Fluent in spoken and written English and Chinese.
- Candidate with less experience will be considered as Assistant Design Manager.
