The appointee will be responsible for handling applications for approval relating to trustees, MPF schemes and investment funds. The main responsibilities include: -


The Job

  • To oversee the monitoring of investment portfolios and performance of MPF schemes, including assessment of investment-related non-compliance;
  • To oversee the approval process for MPF products, promote industry’s best practices, and review applications related to acquisitions and restructuring of MPF businesses;
  • To lead the continuous review and implementation of the “Value for Money” framework, ensuring alignment with international standards and effective communication with MPF trustees;
  • To manage fee-related initiatives, including the development and monitoring of fee reduction plans and analysis of fee and Fund Expense Ratio trends;
  • To drive digitalization and AI initiatives to enhance supervisory processes and operational efficiency;
  • To formulate and implement strategies for sustainability investment and related disclosure requirements;
  • To lead formulation and execution of reforms and refinements of the MPF and ORSO Systems;
  • To develop the business plan and contribute to the annual corporate plan, and to coach and develop team members; and
  • To perform other duties as assigned by the Management.


The Person

  • A recognized degree, preferably in finance, economics, actuarial science, accounting, law or equivalent;
  • At least 15 years or experience in trust business, pensions/retirement schemes management, investment compliance, or financial market regulation, of which at least 4 years should be at Senior Manager level or above; preferably gained from sizable financial institutions, public organizations or regulatory bodies;
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese;
  • Forward looking, think strategically in setting directions and competent in driving changes;
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, broad perspective, strong business acumen, and with a sense of mission; and
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills.


Remuneration Package

A competitive remuneration and benefits package including a discretionary performance-linked variable pay, annual leave, medical, dental and life insurance coverage, and MPF will be offered. All new appointments will be made on a two-year fixed-term contract initially prior to consideration for appointment on a non-fixed-term basis.
