Job Description
The PTA Committee at Bradbury School is looking for a part-time administrator. Bradbury PTA stages a number of social and fundraising events each year and supports the school and parent community for the benefit of all Bradbury School students.
Key Responsibilities
This role provides support to the PTA Committee, particularly the Chair and Hon. Treasurer. Responsibilities include:
- Planning and coordination of events, both large- and small-scale, including volunteer coordination
- General administrative support, including dealing with incoming and outgoing correspondence (email and post) and responding to general enquiries.
- Processing and recording all outgoing payments, and incoming funds (e.g. collection of subscriptions, donations, proceeds from events and sales, etc.)
- Providing information to external service providers (e.g. auditors, company secretary)
- Liaising with school staff and volunteers (e.g. admissions, class parent coordinator) to welcome new families
- Supporting the PTA Committee, including arranging meetings, distributing and filing documents, etc
Requirements
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to liaise with students, parents and school staff
- Good organisational and administrative skills, including the ability to work with standard software packages (Microsoft Office, Google Docs, etc.)
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently, as well as cooperatively, as part of a team
- Good command of spoken and written English
- Cantonese is not required, but would be an advantage
Working Hours
- The role is term-time only, plus an additional week in August (i.e. duties will commence the week before school resumes each year).
- Current working hours are approximately 16 hours per week, spread over at least 2 to 4 days.
- Additional hours are anticipated during school events such as the Winter Market and the Chinese New Year Celebration.
- Attendance at after-school or evening meetings and events will be required, on occasion.
Applicants must be a Hong Kong permanent resident or possess a valid visa to work in Hong Kong.
