Shape the Future of Urban Resilience in Climate Science
The Mission: Join a pioneering R&D team funded by the Hong Kong Innovation Technology Committee dedicated to bridging the gap between Deep Learning and Classical Numerical Weather Prediction. We are building a next-generation "Digital Twin" for urban environments, integrating high-fidelity Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) with neural networks to predict urban weather patterns at high resolution.
The Role: Impact & Innovation
As a Computational Scientist, you will be designing how physical laws are encoded into AI. Your work will directly influence urban planning, climate adaptation, and smart city infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Frontier R&D: Design and implement novel Physics-Informed Neural Networks (PINNs) and operator learning architectures for urban atmospheric flows.
- Hybrid Modeling: Develop differentiable solvers that maintain strict adherence to fluid dynamics and thermodynamics.
- Academic Leadership: Lead collaborations with top-tier universities and publish high-impact research at conferences and specialized Physics journals.
- Production-Grade Engineering: Deploy scalable research code/large scale neural network systems onto a robust cloud-computing platform to solve real-world urban challenges.
Who You Are
- The Academic Foundation: A Master’s or PhD in Physics, Applied Mathematics, AI, or a related quantitative field.
- The ML Specialist: Expertise in neural architecture design, gradient-based optimization, and loss function engineering (specifically for constrained optimization).
- The Technical Craftsperson: Proficient in large scale computation (PDE solvers), the Python ecosystem (PyTorch/JAX/TensorFlow) and comfortable navigating high-performance Linux/Cloud environments.
- The Physics Enthusiast: You have a strong intuition for Navier-Stokes equations, turbulence modeling, or atmospheric science.
- The Communicator: You can distill complex technical concepts into elegant papers, slides, or documentation.
What We Offer
- Intellectual Freedom: Encouragement to explore "blue-sky" ideas that merge CFD and AI.
- Senior Tracks: Candidates with significant experience or a PhD will be considered for Senior Computational Scientist roles with project-lead responsibilities.
- Vibrant Culture: A proactive, "can-do" environment where idea-sharing is the default.
- Global Reach, Local Impact: Work in Hong Kong on technology that scales to cities worldwide.
All applications will be treated in strict confidence. Personal information collected will be used solely for the purpose of recruitment. If you are not invited for an interview within 4 weeks, your application will be filed for a further 2 years and be considered for any other appropriate positions within the company or related companies.
