Responsibilities
We are looking for a high caliber professional to join our Decarbonisation Business Department as Assistant Manager for developing energy infrastructure projects in Hong Kong. Key responsibilities include:
- Prepare clear and concise decarbonisation proposals and presentations, effectively articulating key messages and complex concepts
- Conduct market and regulatory research, as well as commercial analysis, to support business development and sales activities. Stay up to date on industry news, market developments, customer preferences, and competitor activities
- Attend and support industry events, exhibitions, and roadshows to promote the company’s services, products, and concepts, while enhancing the company’s image
- Maintain and uphold operational standards, processes, and procedures for sales and promotional activities. Ensure proper adherence, internal controls, and measurement mechanisms of the company
- Handle general enquiries from customers. Conduct regular reviews of project proposals and performance to drive continuous improvement
- Mobilise and coordinate internal and external resources in a cross‑functional environment to communicate and conduct due diligence for potential opportunities, highlight key project risks and assist in proposing appropriate mitigation measures to management
- Assist in negotiations with external counterparties, applying sound commercial judgement and business acumen while facilitating internal processes to support project closure
- Review financial models to assess project feasibility, risks, and commercial viability, working closely with internal stakeholders
- Collaborate with external and internal stakeholders including customers, consultants, in‑house support teams, and functional departments such as Finance, Legal, and Risk
- Perform other ad‑hoc duties as assigned
Requirements
- A recognized University degree in Engineering, Energy, Business or related discipline
- Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in engineering, energy, or related sectors
- Strong understanding of and interest in the building industry or decarbonisation projects, with knowledge of commercial issues, risk analysis, and policy regimes
- Strong network and connections with stakeholders across the public and private sectors
- Strong interpersonal, customer‑handling and problem‑solving skills
- Strong business acumen, capable of providing analytical insights with independent thinking, and able to manage multiple internal and external stakeholders
- Self‑motivated and able to thrive in a cross‑functional team environment
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience delivering compelling presentations and engaging with clients through various channels, both verbally and in writing
- Sound knowledge of building HVAC systems, sustainability, carbon reduction, or energy efficiency would be an added advantage
- Sound knowledge of different energy contract models such as energy performance contracting (EPC) and other investment models would be an added advantage
- Fluent in spoken and written English and Chinese, including both Mandarin and Cantonese
- Professional corporate membership in a business or engineering institution would be an added advantage
- Candidates with less experience will be considered for a lower position
