Information Technology Services Office (ITSO) is responsible for developing and managing the IT infrastructure of the University, and championing the wise use of IT for learning, research and administration activities.
The Student & Teaching Technologies team of ITSO develops, implements and supports various IT systems and software solution related to teaching and e-learning, including but not limited to the following: (1) implementation of in-house or outsourced web-base / mobile device solution; (2) proof-of-concept / prototyping projects related to application of new technologies ; (3) customization of packaged solution ; (4) supervision of student projects ; (5) providing consultation to user department related to IT aspect.
The Student & Teaching Technologies team is looking for a high-caliber individual to fill the position of Manager (Application Systems).
Requirements:
- A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology/Computer Science or related disciplines with at least 10 years' relevant working experience in IT support and system developments;
- Substantial experience in IT project management, including project planning, progress monitoring, performance evaluation, issue handling and escalation, change management and documentation;
- Substantial experience in system implementation, including requirements collection, compilation, product evaluation, analysis, programming and presentation of relevant information;
- Working knowledge of in-house develop solutions related to student, teaching and learning, or previous experience working in higher education sector will be a plus;
- Working knowledge of customization of packaged solutions related to student, teaching and learning, or previous experience working in higher education sector will be a plus.
- Experience in vendor management, including knowledge in tendering process, management of vendor project, review of deliverables and propose options for project issues;
- Strong technical background in web-based / mobile device solution;
- Hands-on experience in various programming languages, BI tools or cloud-based solution customization would have definite advantage;
- Strong technical knowledge in AI-assisted SDLC;
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, and good command of written and spoken English and Chinese are required.

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
