Pros: I've worked on some really interesting infrastructure projects here. The teams are generally supportive, and there are some hybrid work options for us in the Sydney office, which helps with flexibility.
Cons: As a Civil Engineer, the workload can be seriously intense. It's common to work long hours, especially when project deadlines hit. This definitely impacts your work-life balance and makes it hard to switch off.
Advice to Management: Management should really look at resource allocation for infrastructure projects. It's tough to maintain work-life balance when employees are constantly overloaded. Support for better work-life balance for engineering roles is crucial.

Pros: There's a decent hybrid model, so I wasn't always stuck in the office. You get some flexibility for personal appointments, which is good. For some design work, WFH is pretty standard, especially if you're not on client site.
Cons: The work-life balance here is definitely tough during peak project cycles. Expect some long hours, especially on big infrastructure projects. It's hard to switch off when deadlines loom for a consulting firm, leading to burnout.
Advice to Management: Try to better manage project loads and client expectations to avoid constant crunch times for engineering teams. More support for workload distribution would help prevent burnout.

Pros: I've found the hybrid work model really helps with flexibility. It's good to come into the Sydney office a few days, then work from home. For many engineering consulting roles, that flexibility is a big plus.
Cons: Work-life balance can be tough, especially on tight infrastructure projects. There's often pressure to put in extra hours, and it's not always recognized. As a Civil Engineer, I sometimes felt stretched.
Advice to Management: Try to better manage project loads to prevent burnout. Support true 40-hour weeks for the teams.
