Hybrid is nice, but true flexibility is rare
Pros: I like the hybrid work option they offer. You can work from home a couple days a week in the Singapore office. As a Senior Consultant, this does give some breathing room between client sites. It's a solid perk on paper for our management consulting roles.
Cons: But let's be real, actual flexibility is tough. Client deliverables often mean long hours onsite for project-based work. So, that WFH day often gets pushed or you're just logging in from home late anyway. It's not as flexible as it sounds in practice.
Advice to Management: Really look at how project leads manage workload for consultants. The hybrid policy is great on paper, but it doesn't always translate to actual work-life balance or true flexibility on client engagements.

Demanding Hours, Strong Consulting Experience
Pros: You get solid experience on diverse client projects, which is great for career growth in management consulting. The team in the Singapore office is generally supportive, and you learn a ton from senior leadership.
Cons: Work-life balance is a real struggle; expect late nights, especially nearing project deadlines. As a Consultant, 60+ hour weeks aren't uncommon, making it tough to have a life outside work. Hybrid work is technically available, but client demands often pull you back onsite.
Advice to Management: Try to enforce more reasonable hours and truly protect consultants' personal time. Client expectations are high, but consultant burnout is a very real issue.

Leadership is a mixed bag, honestly
Pros: You'll find some truly excellent leaders, especially on specific digital transformation projects. They really invest in their team's growth, which is great for career development as a Management Consultant. I've seen solid mentorship from good partners.
Cons: The biggest issue is inconsistent leadership across this big corporate firm. Some senior managers just aren't equipped to lead people effectively. It often feels like they prioritize billable hours over team well-being in the Singapore office, and the hybrid work model isn't always genuinely supported by all leaders.
Advice to Management: Invest more in leadership training for senior managers and partners. Make sure they understand the importance of employee well-being and truly support the hybrid work model, not just in policy but in practice.
