Pros: You get to work on some really interesting cases right away, which is great for career growth as a new lawyer. The senior partners are smart and you learn a lot quickly in this busy law firm environment. The team in the Jakarta office is generally supportive.
Cons: Work-life balance is definitely a challenge here. Expect 60+ hour weeks regularly, especially with client deadlines. It's almost entirely onsite work, so there's really no work flexibility for Junior Associate roles. Weekends often get eaten up too.
Advice to Management: Consider ways to better manage workload for junior staff. Burnout is a real issue. Even small gestures like occasional WFH days or protected personal time could make a difference.
