Tough Hours, Decent Pay in Nickel Mining
Pros: The salary and benefits are solid, especially for onsite work in a remote location like Morowali. You get good exposure to large-scale plant operations in heavy industry. Job security feels pretty good too.
Cons: Work-life balance is really tough. We're on a 12-hour rotational schedule, and there's not much time off. It's an onsite role, so you're away from family a lot. The demands for production are intense, especially for engineers in the field.
Advice to Management: Try to find ways to improve the rotational schedule or offer more structured R&R for onsite personnel. Employee well-being should be a bigger priority, even in heavy industry.

Tough Hours, Good Experience for Engineers
Pros: The pay for a Process Engineer is pretty decent for the mining industry in Indonesia. You get a lot of hands-on experience in nickel processing and there's usually solid job security here.
Cons: Work-life balance? Not really a thing, especially if you're onsite in Morowali, Central Sulawesi. We often work long shifts, and personal time is scarce. It's an onsite, corporate setup, so don't expect much flexibility.
Advice to Management: Management needs to really look at the shift schedules and consider more structured time off. Employee burnout is real, especially for those in technical roles on remote sites.

Tough but interesting work in a remote area
Pros: You learn a ton fast, especially if you're new to the nickel mining industry. For Process Engineer roles, there's always something new to troubleshoot on the Morowali site. The pay for onsite work is decent to compensate for the remote location.
Cons: The company culture can feel a bit old-school and rigid. There isn't much flexibility, and it's definitely a 'work hard, play never' vibe. Communication often gets lost in translation, making things slower.
Advice to Management: Try to modernize the communication channels and create a bit more work-life balance for onsite staff. A little recognition goes a long way for employee morale.
