Pros: It's awesome to work on autonomous driving technology. The compensation is very competitive for a big tech company in Mountain View, CA, and the benefits are solid. You learn a lot in AI/ML engineering roles here.
Cons: Upper leadership often changes strategy, which is pretty frustrating for project teams. There's a noticeable lack of clear communication from the top down. It feels like executive management is somewhat disconnected from daily engineering challenges.
Advice to Management: Try to communicate decisions more clearly and consistently from executive leadership. Give teams a solid vision and stick to it for more than a few months. Empower middle management to make more impactful choices.

Pros: They offer a hybrid model for many engineering roles, which is decent. As a Software Engineer, I can work from home a couple of days a week. It helps a bit with the commute to the Mountain View office.
Cons: The expectation is still 3 days in office, which can feel rigid for some self-driving tech work. Some teams have less flexibility than others. It's not truly remote-friendly like some other big tech companies.
Advice to Management: Consider offering more flexibility, especially for roles that don't require constant hardware interaction. A 2-day office week for certain self-driving tech teams could boost morale and productivity.

Pros: As a Software Engineer in autonomous driving tech, the base salary and RSU package here are definitely competitive. It's solid for a big tech company in the Bay Area. You won't feel short-changed on your paycheck.
Cons: The benefits package, though, feels a bit just okay. Healthcare costs are higher than I've seen at other places. The 401k match isn't really industry-leading either, which is a shame.
Advice to Management: Re-evaluate the healthcare options and 401k matching. Improving these could really boost overall compensation sentiment for employees.
