Sabre's Culture: Team's Good, Corporate's Slow
Pros: I've worked as a Software Engineer here for a while, and my specific team had a really solid culture; we genuinely helped each other out. It's cool to be part of the travel technology industry.
Cons: The overall corporate culture can feel pretty slow sometimes. Getting things done across departments, especially in the Southlake, Texas office, is often tough. There's a lot of bureaucracy.
Advice to Management: Try to empower individual teams more and cut down on all the red tape. A faster pace for innovation would really help.

Okay work-life for engineers, but depends on team
Pros: Most teams here encourage a good 40-hour week, especially for software engineering roles. The hybrid model is nice, letting you work remote a few days from the Southlake, TX office. It's decent for general travel technology.
Cons: Some projects in the airline solutions division can get really intense, leading to longer hours. It's not uncommon to put in extra time before major releases, which affects personal plans. Flexibility can vary a lot by manager.
Advice to Management: Try to standardize expectations around project crunch times across all engineering teams. More consistent work-life balance would really help morale.

Decent Stability, But Compensation Lags
Pros: I liked the job security you get with a big corporate player like Sabre. The health insurance is solid, and there's a pretty standard 401k match. For a Software Engineer, the work itself can be pretty interesting in the travel technology domain.
Cons: The pay here is definitely not competitive for the tech industry, especially for technical roles like mine. Raises are super small, and there aren't many stock options. It just feels like your compensation isn't keeping up, especially when you compare it to other companies in the Southlake, TX area.
Advice to Management: Management really needs to re-evaluate the compensation packages for all employees, especially for engineers. We need better base salaries and more robust bonus or stock options to attract and retain top talent in the current tech market.
