Pros: The team I work with is really supportive, which helps a lot. As a Manufacturing Engineer, I do get some autonomy over how I manage my project tasks. There's also a strong focus on safety within the specialty chemicals manufacturing environment.
Cons: Work-life balance is a struggle because there's just not much flexibility. It's an almost entirely onsite role for us in the New Castle, DE plant. It's hard to handle personal appointments or unexpected issues without having to use PTO.
Advice to Management: Consider offering more flexible shift options or a clearer policy for occasional remote work where it makes sense. Even a bit more understanding for personal appointments during the day would make a big difference.

Pros: You get to work on cool specialty chemicals and consumer care ingredients. The team vibe in my R&D lab was good. Pay and benefits are pretty decent for a corporate company.
Cons: The company culture feels a bit old-school, not very agile. There's not much work flexibility, especially if you're onsite in the New Castle, DE facility. Sometimes, bureaucracy slows down new product development.
Advice to Management: Try to embrace more modern approaches to company culture and empower teams to innovate without so much red tape. More flexibility options would really help attract and retain talent.

Pros: The job security here is really good, especially for someone in the chemical industry. Croda's a stable, global company, so you don't worry about layoffs much. As a Chemical Engineer, my onsite role felt pretty essential.
Cons: Things can move really slow in the Edison, New Jersey office. Career growth is tough; it's hard to get promoted without waiting forever. Compensation could definitely be better for the workload we handle.
Advice to Management: Focus on creating clearer paths for career progression. Recognize and reward good work faster, especially for long-term employees in critical R&D roles.
