Positive Experience in a Growing Industry
Pros: I've really enjoyed the collaborative environment here. My colleagues in the Supply Chain department are incredibly supportive, and there's a strong sense of teamwork. It's a great place for career development, as I've been given opportunities to expand my skills in Food & Agriculture operations. The job security is also good, providing a stable work environment for an Onsite Supply Chain Coordinator.
Cons: While leadership is generally supportive, communication could be more consistent across different departments, sometimes leading to minor misunderstandings. Also, the internal approval processes can feel a bit slow when trying to make quick decisions, which occasionally impacts our operational agility as a Supply Chain Coordinator.
Advice to Management: Focus on optimizing internal approval workflows to improve agility and enhance cross-departmental communication for better project execution.

Sales life at JAPFA: It's a mixed bag
Pros: As a Sales Representative in the agri-food industry, I appreciate the hybrid work model. It's good that I can work from home some days. My regional manager is pretty understanding about personal appointments.
Cons: But honestly, work-life balance here is tough. You're always on call for clients, especially with farming schedules. The travel for client visits is constant and often eats into evenings.
Advice to Management: Management should look at staffing more sales support. That would help us manage client load better and reduce late-night follow-ups. Also, clearer boundaries on after-hours contact.

Hybrid model needs more flexibility
Pros: They do have a stated hybrid policy, which is a start. It's nice to have some days working from home, even if it's limited. Team members are generally understanding if you need a specific day off.
Cons: The "hybrid" model isn't very flexible in practice for most roles like mine. We have strict onsite requirements, usually 3-4 days a week, making true work-life balance tough. There isn't much leeway with schedules, which can be hard in the agri-food industry.
Advice to Management: Really re-evaluate the hybrid policy for the Jakarta office. Give employees more autonomy over their WFH days and consider if 3-4 days onsite is truly necessary for all non-operational roles in the agri-food industry. True work-life balance comes with real flexibility.
