Flexibility is Okay, But It's a Logistics Job
Pros: Some admin teams actually get a decent hybrid model, which is a big plus. For us in the Sydney depot, they do try to accommodate specific shift requests if you give enough notice. It helps when you have personal appointments to manage.
Cons: True remote work isn't really an option for most logistics roles, which is tough but understandable given the hands-on nature of freight movement. Expect shift work and not a ton of wiggle room when urgent delivery schedules pop up. The core business demands make consistent work flexibility hard for operational staff.
Advice to Management: Keep pushing for more flexible options where possible, especially for non-operational roles. Recognize the effort people put into managing tight delivery schedules and consider how to better support operational staff.

Work-life Balance is a Mixed Bag Here
Pros: You do get some decent teammates who help out when things get crazy. The work is steady, so job security feels solid, which is a plus. For an onsite role in Sydney's transport industry, it's pretty standard.
Cons: Work-life balance can really take a hit during peak times. As an Operations Coordinator, you often work longer hours than expected, dealing with late delivery schedules. There's not much work flexibility or WFH options available for these types of roles.
Advice to Management: Try to staff better during busy periods to reduce the burden on existing teams. More focus on employee well-being would go a long way.
