Maintenance Engineer

Solid Pay, Benefits Could Use a Boost
Pros: As a Maintenance Engineer, the hourly pay rate was solid. You definitely get paid well for your time, especially with overtime for heavy industrial manufacturing. Working onsite, you can always count on consistent hours.
Cons: Without consistent overtime, the base salary felt a bit stagnant for engineer roles. The benefits package, especially health insurance, isn't great. It's just okay for a company of this size.
Advice to Management: Review the base pay structure to be more competitive without relying so heavily on overtime. Improve the health benefit options to attract and retain top talent in the manufacturing sector.

Bradken's onsite policy limits flexibility
Pros: The pay and benefits are pretty decent for a big industrial company. There's good job security for a Mechanical Engineer in the manufacturing sector. You get to work with experienced folks daily in the Peoria, IL office.
Cons: Work flexibility is really low here, almost non-existent for my onsite position. There are strict hours and no WFH options, which makes personal appointments tricky. It's tough to balance things outside of work.
Advice to Management: Consider more hybrid models or at least flex hours for some roles. It would really help with employee retention and overall morale.
