Okay WLB, but it's a fast-paced ed-tech startup
Pros: Work-life balance can be decent if you manage your tasks well. As a fully remote Software Engineer, I've had good flexibility to structure my day, which really helps. The company's ed-tech focus is interesting, too.
Cons: But honestly, it's a growing startup, so you often feel the pressure. There's an expectation for long hours, especially when approaching major product launches. Can be tough to really unplug from work.
Advice to Management: Try to encourage teams to disconnect more, especially after big deadlines. It's easy for the lines to blur with remote work.

Okay flexibility, but crunch times are real
Pros: I've gotta say, the remote work option is solid. Being fully remote means I can really manage my own schedule. For engineering roles, there's decent flexibility when it comes to daily tasks, which helps a lot.
Cons: However, work-life balance here isn't always great, especially with project deadlines. It feels like 50+ hour weeks are common when a big release is coming. This is tough for a mid-sized startup, they push hard.
Advice to Management: Try to manage project scope better and avoid crunch times. It really burns out the development team.

Decent job security for an EdTech startup
Pros: Working as a Software Engineer here, I felt pretty valued. The company is a growing EdTech startup, so there's always new projects and roles appearing. For a remote position, the stability has been decent.
Cons: However, job security isn't its strong suit. We've had a few sudden team restructures which made everyone nervous. It's not as stable as a big tech company.
Advice to Management: Be more transparent about company direction and future plans. Frequent reorgs without clear communication hurt morale and trust in job security.
