Pros: The flexibility of remote work is a huge plus for me. I can often set my own schedule for tasks related to metrology software implementation. It helps a lot with personal appointments.
Cons: Sometimes client demands can really pile up, especially for an Applications Engineer. You might find yourself working longer hours to meet project deadlines. The lines blur when you're doing remote work from home.
Advice to Management: Try to give teams more support in managing client expectations. Better resource planning for projects would help prevent burnout for technical staff in industrial technology.

Pros: The hybrid work model is a solid perk. It gives you some flexibility, which helps a lot. For individual contributors like me, the regular 40-hour weeks are respected most of the time. Plus, the paid time off is pretty good.
Cons: When a new metrology solution or CAD/CAM product is launching, expect some long nights. Project management can be a bit aggressive with deadlines. It can be tough, especially for those of us in the North Kingstown, RI office.
Advice to Management: Try to set more realistic timelines for new product development. Better resource planning would really help ease the crunch periods for the engineering teams.

Pros: You do get some WFH days, which is nice. For an Applications Engineer working with manufacturing intelligence solutions, the remote tools are pretty solid, so we can get our work done. It's not totally inflexible.
Cons: The hybrid model feels forced sometimes. We're expected in the office more than makes sense, especially when projects don't require it. There's not much trust for full remote work, even when proving capability for complex metrology software tasks.
