Pay is okay, benefits could be better
Pros: As a Software Engineer in the San Francisco office, the base salary isn't terrible; it's competitive enough to live here, I guess. The health insurance plans are pretty solid, you've got good options for medical and dental coverage.
Cons: Bonuses are really hit-or-miss and stock options for new hires are pretty minimal compared to other tech companies. Don't expect much in terms of a 401k match; it's quite low. Also, the PTO policy feels a bit stingy for the industry.
Advice to Management: Re-evaluate the bonus structure and stock refreshers to be more competitive. A better 401k match would also help with employee retention and attract top talent.

Job security is decent, but role stability isn't
Pros: For software development roles here, you won't typically see huge layoff waves. There's always some project or team that needs engineers, so you're generally safe from losing your job at this mid-sized tech company. The remote work arrangement offers flexibility.
Cons: The biggest issue is how often teams get reorganized. Your project can get shelved or your role redefined with little warning. It really makes it hard to feel secure in what you're doing, even if your overall job is safe in the tech industry.
Advice to Management: Try to stabilize team structures and project roadmaps a bit more. The constant reorgs make it tough for employees to feel settled and truly invest in their work.
