Busy but you can make it work sometimes
Pros: It's a big corporate firm so there's some structure. The hybrid work model helps a lot for Senior Associates in the London office, making it easier to manage personal stuff. You can mostly choose your WFH days.
Cons: Work-life balance can be tough in the consulting industry. Expect long hours, especially during client deadlines and busy season. Sometimes it feels like you're always on call, which affects personal time.
Advice to Management: Try to enforce stricter boundaries on client expectations, especially regarding late-night emails. Support teams more during peak periods to lighten the load.

Solid Job Security for Consulting Roles
Pros: PwC is a huge Big Four firm, so there's always client work to go around. This really helps with job security, even for entry-level consulting roles. It feels pretty safe, you know?
Cons: That said, performance reviews can get pretty intense, and not hitting your targets definitely makes you nervous. There's also constant pressure to bill hours, which impacts job security if your utilization drops. Sometimes, they do annual culls without calling them layoffs.
Advice to Management: Be more transparent about the direct link between performance metrics and job stability, especially for people in client-facing consulting roles. It would help reduce anxiety a lot.

Leadership is a mixed bag for consultants
Pros: Some partners genuinely care about your career path, especially in the Assurance practice. There's good mentorship if you find the right senior manager in the London office. They do try to develop your skills as an audit professional.
Cons: Leadership can be really inconsistent across different projects and teams. It often feels like they prioritize billable hours over employee well-being for newer consultants. Communication from top management isn't always clear about future strategy for the UK firm.
Advice to Management: Standardize leadership training to ensure consistency. Prioritize employee well-being more visibly, especially when project deadlines are tight for audit and tax teams. Improve top-down communication from the UK firm's senior leadership.
