Pros: The work flexibility is a big plus here. As a Machine Learning Engineer, being fully remote from my San Francisco home office was super convenient. It's great to have that trust and autonomy in the AI industry.
Cons: Sometimes, the work-life balance gets tough with unexpected project scope changes. Even with flexible hours, it's hard when an AI model development cycle suddenly requires more effort. Communication around these shifts could be better.
Advice to Management: Try to provide more lead time for changes in project scope. Better planning would really help the remote engineering teams manage their deliverables and personal time.
