Great Place for Career Growth and Strong Leadership
Pros: I've really benefited from the hands-on training and mentorship at Michael Page. Our leadership team in the London office does a fantastic job providing clear guidance and development opportunities for Recruitment Consultants. There's a genuine focus on career progression and upskilling, which is great for anyone looking to build a long-term career in professional services recruitment. The team culture is also very collaborative; colleagues are always ready to help out.
Cons: Sometimes, the internal approval processes can feel a bit slow, especially when you're trying to move quickly on a new client or candidate. It can occasionally create bottlenecks. Also, while work flexibility is generally good, there are definitely busy periods in this fast-paced recruitment agency environment where work-life balance can be a bit challenging. Clearer communication on company-wide changes could also be improved.
Advice to Management: Continue to invest in streamlining internal processes and improving communication channels across teams. While the leadership is strong, faster decision-making and clearer updates would help us on the front lines, especially during peak recruitment periods.

Great for Career Growth and Learning in Recruitment
Pros: I've really enjoyed my time at Michael Page as a Recruitment Consultant. The training and development programs are top-notch, really helping me understand the recruitment industry and grow my skills. My colleagues in the London office are super supportive, and there's a great team culture. It's a dynamic and engaging environment, perfect for someone looking for significant career growth in staffing.
Cons: It can definitely be a high-pressure role with demanding targets, so occasional long hours are part of the deal, especially towards month-end. While career growth is there, the promotion process can feel a bit slow for some, and it's highly competitive. You need to be self-motivated to really thrive here.

Fast-paced recruitment, but culture needs work
Pros: I learned a ton about the staffing industry and sales. Your team can be really supportive, which helps when things get intense. There's good training for new recruitment consultant roles.
Cons: The company culture here is super competitive, almost cutthroat. It's all about numbers. Work-life balance suffers, you're expected to be available constantly, making it tough in the NYC office. Management can be very hands-on, bordering on micromanagement for headhunting efforts.
Advice to Management: Focus on fostering a more collaborative culture, not just a competitive one. Encourage better work-life balance for your recruiters. Less micromanagement would also help morale.

I've gained valuable skills in the recruitment industry through excellent training and development programs. It's a dynamic, fast-paced environment with good career development opportunities for high performers. The hybrid work model is a nice perk, offering flexibility.
Cons: It's a very target-driven sales environment, which can lead to busy periods and occasional longer hours, especially when trying to close deals. Some internal approval processes feel a bit slow at times, but it's a minor thing. You definitely need to be self-motivated to thrive here.

Leadership has its moments, good and bad
Pros: You get solid training for new recruitment consultant roles. There's a lot of opportunity to make good money if you hit your targets. The team in the New York City office is generally supportive, which helps a lot.
Cons: Leadership can be inconsistent. Some managers are great mentors, others just push numbers without much real support. It feels very corporate, and there's a lot of pressure, making work-life balance tough. The focus is always on hitting high sales goals.
Advice to Management: Try to offer more consistent leadership across teams. Focus less on micro-management and more on empowering your recruitment consultants. Acknowledge that the high-pressure sales environment needs balanced support, not just more pressure.
