The
Lead Building Services Engineer is responsible for leading the design, coordination, and delivery of Mechanical Building Services (MBSE) across industrial and commercial projects. The role combines strong technical leadership with project execution, client interface, and team development within Haskoning Indonesia.
This position ensures that Plumbing, Fire Fighting, Utility Services, and related building systems are designed in compliance with Indonesian regulations and international engineering standards, while meeting project quality, cost, and schedule objectives.
What will you do
- Lead preparation of building services design deliverables, including reports, calculations, drawings (PFD, P&ID, layouts), specifications, and cost estimates, supported by BIM/modeling teams.
- Design water, wastewater, utility, and fire fighting systems for industrial and building projects in compliance with SNI, NFPA, and international standards.
- Perform and review engineering calculations (hydraulic, heat & mass balance, sizing of pipes, pumps, and valves).
- Ensure alignment across URS, process documents, specifications, datasheets, and layouts.
- Provide construction support, multidisciplinary coordination, and technical leadership to project teams and modelers.
Where you will work
You will be based in Haskoning's Jakarta office, working in a hybrid environment with flexibility between office and remote work, and providing project site support as required across Indonesia.
What you bring
- Minimum S1 Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering from reputable Univerity.
- Minimum 8–12 years of experience in building services and utility system design, preferably within consulting engineering or EPC environments serving industrial and complex building projects.
- Strong technical capability in plumbing, water and wastewater systems, utilities, and fire fighting systems, with sound knowledge of SNI, NFPA, ASPE, IAPMO/UPC, ASME, ASTM, and other relevant standards.
- Proven experience leading multidisciplinary project teams, coordinating design deliverables, and providing construction support.
- Proficient in engineering design tools and BIM/drafting coordination (e.g. AutoCAD, Revit, Plant 3D) with strong analytical and calculation skills.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and client-facing skills, with proficiency in spoken and written English.
