ABOUT NONPUBLIC

Pre-IPO access has long been an institutional privilege. NonPublic changes that. We give over 1,000 wholesale investors direct access to the world’s most sought-after private companies, including SpaceX, OpenAI, Anthropic, Canva, and Anduril, through ASIC-regulated unit trusts and SPVs.

We have deployed $106M+ in principal investments, with mark-to-market AUM and AUA exceeding $150M. We are a modern private markets platform built by founders, for the investors who were previously locked out.

THE ROLE

Every NonPublic investor, from family offices to sophisticated individuals, relies on a capable and organised counterpart at NonPublic. That is the role.

As Investor Relations Associate, you own the operational lifecycle from the moment an investor commits through to every quarterly update they receive. You will run KYC/KYB and AML/CTF, coordinate fund closes, capital calls, and distributions, and act as the day-to-day point of contact for investors across deals, documentation, and reporting.

ROLE SUMMARY

Team: Investor Relations

Reports to: Head of Investor Relations

Type: Full-time, permanent

Level: Associate · 2–5 years experience

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

Investor experience

  • Primary point of contact for investor enquiries on deals, capital calls, distributions and reporting.
  • Coordinate the preparation and distribution of quarterly reports, capital call notices and distribution notices.
  • Respond to due diligence questionnaires (DDQs) accurately and on time.
  • Liaise with fund administrators, legal counsel, and auditors to resolve investor queries.

Onboarding & fund operations

  • Manage end-to-end onboarding for new investors.
  • Coordinate subscription agreements, side letters, and ancillary closing documents with legal and the fund administrator.
  • Process capital calls and distributions in coordination with the fund administrator and finance team, ensuring accuracy of LP notices and waterfall calculations.
  • Maintain the investor data room and CRM, keeping records current and audit-ready.
  • Support fund accounting queries and fee calculations as required.

KYC / KYB

  • Own KYC/KYB for all investor types, including individuals, companies, funds, and trusts.
  • Verify identity documentation, beneficial ownership, and Ultimate Beneficial Owners (UBOs) at the AUSTRAC 25% threshold, applying lower thresholds on a risk basis.
  • Apply Standard, Enhanced, or Simplified due diligence based on risk profile and jurisdiction.
  • Track document expiry and complete periodic refresh cycles within required timeframes.
  • Engage investors and their representatives directly to obtain outstanding documentation.

AML / CTF

  • Apply NonPublic’s AML framework across the investor lifecycle, aligned with the AML/CTF Act 2006 (Cth) and AUSTRAC Rules (including Tranche 2 obligations).
  • Screen investors against sanctions, PEP and adverse media.
  • Conduct Source of Funds and Source of Wealth assessments for higher-risk and complex profiles.
  • Escalate concerns to the MLRO with supporting documentation, and file Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) where required.
  • Screen against DFAT Consolidated, UN, OFAC, and EU watchlists, and identify CTF typologies such as unusual flows, opaque structures, and high-risk jurisdictions.
  • Maintain a complete and auditable AML file for every investor.

Broader compliance

  • Ensure Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) obligations are met (including the 2024 amendments and the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme), and GDPR where EU-resident investor data is handled — covering consents, retention schedules, and breach response.
  • Support regulatory filings as directed (ASIC, AUSTRAC, and jurisdictional equivalents).
  • Keep policies, procedures, and compliance committee materials current as regulation and practice evolve.

WHAT YOU BRING

Must-haves

  • 2–5 years in investor relations, fund operations, or compliance, within private equity, private credit, alternatives, or wealth management platforms.
  • Hands-on KYC/KYB and AML experience across institutional and HNW investor bases.
  • Working knowledge of LP/GP, SPV, unit trust, and co-investment structures.
  • Familiarity with screening tools such as World-Check, LexisNexis Bridger, or Refinitiv World-Check One.
  • Strong written communication suited to a sophisticated investor audience.
  • Proficiency with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, and comfort with CRMs and investor portals.
  • Right to work in Australia (citizen, permanent resident, or current valid visa).

Nice-to-haves

  • ACAMS certification (or working toward it).
  • Familiarity with the AML/CTF Tranche 2 reforms phasing in through 2026.
  • Exposure to AUSTRAC reporting obligations (IFTI, TTR, SMR) and Reporting Entity compliance programs.
