Pay is okay, but benefits could improve for engineers
Pros: The base salary for a Process Engineer here in the Shah Alam office is decent. You get annual bonuses if the company performs well in the palm oil industry. Medical coverage is pretty solid, includes dependents too.
Cons: Pay raises are super slow, especially for senior technical roles. There's no real dental or vision plan, which is a big miss. Can't say much for performance-based incentives beyond the annual bonus; it's mostly fixed for engineering professionals.
Advice to Management: Review the compensation structure, especially for long-term employees and technical specialists. Better benefits like dental/vision would go a long way.

Project Engineer Life: It's a Push and Pull
Pros: I like the team spirit here, especially when we're crunching on big plant projects in the Kuala Lumpur office. You learn a lot in process engineering, which is great for career growth. When there's no major deadline, the typical work week is pretty standard, offering decent personal time.
Cons: The work-life balance here can get really challenging during critical project phases. We often have long hours, especially for onsite commissioning in remote palm oil industry locations. It's hard to plan personal stuff when you're suddenly working 60-hour weeks.
Advice to Management: Try to better manage project timelines to avoid constant crunch periods. More support or clearer expectations for onsite work for Project Engineers would help a lot with burnout.
