Great place for stability and learning in enterprise software
Pros: I really appreciate the supportive team environment at TechnologyOne. Colleagues are always willing to help out, and there's a strong focus on learning and development in the enterprise software space. As a Software Engineer, I've had plenty of opportunities to pick up new skills and contribute to impactful projects. The work-life balance is generally good, and the hybrid work arrangement in our Brisbane office is a big plus, offering flexibility.
Cons: While there are opportunities, career progression can feel a bit slow at times, especially when looking for promotions. Sometimes, the approval processes for new initiatives can be quite bureaucratic, which can delay projects. Communication across larger teams could also be improved to ensure everyone is on the same page. These are minor points, but they do crop up.
Advice to Management: Focus on streamlining the promotion path for high-performing individual contributors and enhance cross-departmental communication to reduce bottlenecks. More agile decision-making would also benefit project delivery.

Okay Pay, Benefits Could Be Better
Pros: The base salary for a Software Engineer is competitive enough for Brisbane, especially when you factor in the stable corporate environment. There's a decent superannuation contribution, which is standard here in Australia. They also offer some pretty solid professional development courses.
Cons: Annual pay raises are often pretty small, barely keeping up with inflation. Don't expect huge bonuses or exceptional equity options, unlike some bigger tech companies. The health insurance isn't amazing, and there aren't many unique perks beyond the basics.
Advice to Management: Re-evaluate the compensation strategy for technical roles, especially annual raises and additional benefits. It's tough to retain top talent when other enterprise software firms offer more attractive packages.

Decent Stability, But Watch Your Project
Pros: The company's financial standing feels strong, so job security for core Software Engineer roles in enterprise software is generally good. I felt quite secure during my project. They're a big tech player in Australia, so they don't make rash decisions often.
Cons: Sometimes project funding can shift quickly. If your specific cloud solutions project gets deprioritized, things can get a bit uncertain for those involved. It's not massive turnover, but you do see reassignments or smaller teams getting shuffled.
Advice to Management: Focus on clear communication regarding project longevity and potential team shifts. Make sure those in specialized enterprise software roles feel supported even if their project changes.
