Pros: I've really appreciated the collaborative atmosphere here in the software industry. My colleagues are super supportive, always willing to help out, which makes learning new technologies a lot easier. There's a decent amount of stability with projects, so job security feels good. Plus, the work-life balance isn't bad for a tech role, allowing for personal time after hours. It's a pretty good environment to grow as a Software Engineer.
Cons: The main thing is that the career progression, especially promotions, can feel a bit slow sometimes. You really have to advocate for yourself. Also, internal communication between different engineering teams isn't always the clearest, which sometimes leads to duplicated efforts or minor roadblocks. Some of our legacy systems could definitely use an upgrade too, they can be a bit clunky to work with.
Advice to Management: Focus on streamlining promotion processes and improving cross-functional communication to help employees feel more supported in their career development. Consider investing more in modernizing older systems.

Pros: As a Software Developer here, I appreciate the hybrid work option. It's nice to have some flexibility to work from home a couple days a week. The Mississauga office is pretty good when you are in.
Cons: You can't go fully remote, which is a bummer for some roles. The fixed onsite days can feel a bit rigid. For engineering roles, sometimes it just feels unnecessary to come in.
Advice to Management: Consider a more flexible remote work policy for technical roles rather than a strict hybrid model. Empower teams to decide what works best for their productivity in enterprise mobility management.

Pros: The leadership team generally supports project autonomy, which is great for a Software Engineer. There's a decent focus on developing strong IoT solutions, and I felt like my contributions to specific features mattered. You can learn a lot from senior technical leaders.
Cons: The overall leadership vision across the entire mid-sized tech company isn't always clear or consistent. Some managers struggle with communication, especially in a hybrid model, making it tough to get clear direction. You sometimes feel like decisions are made without much input from the ground level.
Advice to Management: Work on consistent communication from senior leadership down to all teams. Provide more training for middle managers on how to effectively lead hybrid teams. Make sure the long-term strategy for enterprise mobility management is clearly communicated to everyone.
