Exciting Fintech Journey with Strong Leadership
Pros: I've really enjoyed my journey as a Software Engineer at Razorpay, diving deep into the fintech industry. The learning opportunities are immense, especially around payment gateway innovations. My colleagues are incredibly supportive, making it a collaborative environment. Leadership here is truly inspiring, guiding us through complex projects while fostering a sense of ownership. Compensation is competitive for Bengaluru too.
Cons: The pace can be quite high, which means occasional long hours are part of the deal. While the rapid growth is exciting, it sometimes means processes aren't always crystal clear or as streamlined as they could be, requiring a bit more effort to navigate. Communication occasionally needs a nudge.
Advice to Management: Continue to invest in streamlining internal processes and communication channels, especially as the company scales. Clearer pathways for career progression beyond engineering tracks would also be beneficial for others.

Good WFH, but watch the hours
Pros: I've been able to work remotely from Bengaluru most of the time, which is a huge plus for a fintech startup like this. The work-from-home policy for engineering roles is pretty solid, offering decent flexibility with my schedule. It's nice not having to commute everyday.
Cons: Sometimes the flexibility means longer hours, especially when project deadlines hit hard. It's easy to blur lines between work and personal time, even with a good WFH setup. There's often an unspoken expectation to be online a lot.
Advice to Management: Managers should encourage teams to truly disconnect after working hours. Setting clearer boundaries for communication and project expectations would help prevent burnout for remote employees.

Decent flexibility, but depends on your team.
Pros: As a Software Engineer in the fintech industry, I've found the hybrid model pretty solid. You get flexibility for personal appointments, and the WFH policy is officially there. It's good for managing life around work, especially if your team is understanding.
Cons: However, the 'hybrid' part really means 3 days in the Bengaluru office for many teams. Sometimes it feels like you don't have much choice for your remote days. True work flexibility can vary a lot, especially in a fast-paced startup environment.
Advice to Management: Managers should ensure consistency in applying the hybrid model across all teams. Empowering teams to truly decide their WFH policy, instead of a blanket 3-day office rule, would greatly improve work-life balance for engineering roles.
