Great Place for Cybersecurity Professionals
Pros: As a Cybersecurity Consultant at RSA Security in Burlington, MA, I've loved the work-life balance. It's genuinely great to be in the cybersecurity industry without burnout. Colleagues are supportive, and I've gained valuable skills. It's a stable company that values its people.
Cons: Sometimes, internal approvals for new projects feel slow, which can delay things. Career growth isn't always super fast, but the learning opportunities are constant.
Advice to Management: Focus on streamlining some internal approval processes to accelerate project execution and perhaps review career progression paths to offer clearer advancement opportunities.

Okay Work-Life, Tough for Engineering Roles
Pros: The hybrid model was a huge plus, giving us a few WFH days a week. It definitely helped cut down on the commute to the Bedford, MA office. For a big tech company, they do offer decent PTO which is nice.
Cons: As a Senior Software Engineer working on security solutions, project deadlines were often really tight. It meant a lot of late nights and sometimes weekend work, especially closer to release dates. The expectation for responsiveness outside of 9-5 could be a bit much.
Advice to Management: Management really needs to improve project planning and resource allocation. Giving engineering teams more realistic timelines would make a huge difference. Also, setting clearer boundaries on after-hours communication would help a lot.

Okay for work, slow career growth
Pros: You get to work on some really critical cybersecurity challenges. There's a decent amount of technical exposure for new Security Engineer roles. I learned a lot about specific security tools and protocols.
Cons: Career progression is pretty slow here, especially for individual contributors. It's tough to move up without a management track opening. Internal mobility isn't really a strong point across the company.
Advice to Management: Management should focus on defining clearer career ladders. Invest in training and development programs specific to technical roles. Make internal transfers easier to facilitate growth.
