Flexibility Is Hit or Miss
Pros: I've had some decent work flexibility when I needed to adjust my schedule for personal stuff. For a Technical Support Specialist role, a few days of hybrid work were allowed, which helped. It's not totally rigid, which is a plus for a corporate company in the hardware industry.
Cons: Full remote work isn't really an option for most, especially if you're not in a specific engineering team. There's a definite expectation for onsite presence, making work-from-home rare for many roles in the Madrid office. Some teams just don't get the same options.
Advice to Management: Look at making work-from-home policies more consistent across all departments. It'd really boost morale and help attract talent to Super Micro, especially for those in technical roles in the hardware industry.

Decent work-life balance for IT support
Pros: The standard 40-hour work week is usually respected here. As a Technical Support Engineer, I didn't often have to pull all-nighters, which is good for the IT infrastructure industry.
Cons: There isn't much work flexibility if you're onsite in the Madrid office. Sometimes, you're on-call rotation, which can mess with weekend plans.
Advice to Management: Offer more hybrid options for roles where it makes sense. Improve scheduling for on-call rotations to give employees more predictability.

Decent Hybrid, Limited Real Flexibility
Pros: I liked the hybrid model, it's a solid step for a corporate environment like Super Micro Computer Spain. Being able to work from home a couple of days a week definitely helped with commuting to the Madrid office and managing personal stuff. The setup for my Software Engineer role was pretty decent for those WFH days.
Cons: The 'flexibility' felt pretty limited to just the hybrid setup, without much room for adjusting hours or fully remote options. There's a strong preference for onsite presence, which can be tough when you're collaborating on global server hardware projects. It doesn't feel like a truly flexible workplace, more just a managed hybrid.
Advice to Management: Trust employees more with fully remote work options, especially for roles that don't require constant physical presence. Update policies to reflect modern work styles for engineering and enterprise computing teams.
