Good Hands-On, But Chart Your Own Career
Pros: You get to really own your work as a Junior Software Engineer here. I learned a ton just by diving into real projects. It's a solid place to build practical skills in the tech industry.
Cons: Career growth paths aren't clearly defined. You'll need to push for promotions or new responsibilities. For remote work, consistent mentorship can be hit or miss, making it tough to know where you stand.
Advice to Management: Standardize career progression paths for junior roles. Invest more in structured mentorship programs so everyone gets consistent guidance.

Solid remote flexibility for tech roles
Pros: Working remote from home is a huge plus here, especially for Software Engineers. I really appreciate the flexible hours; it helps with personal appointments. You can adjust your schedule as long as you hit deadlines, which gives decent work-life balance for a growing tech company.
Cons: There are still some expectations for quick responses during typical business hours. It's not totally asynchronous, which can be tough sometimes. Certain team meetings are non-negotiable, even with the flexible work arrangement; they could improve on making those more adaptable.
Advice to Management: Keep promoting truly asynchronous work where possible. Re-evaluate mandatory meeting times for remote teams to enhance flexibility even more.

Good flexibility, but hours can get long.
Pros: I really liked the hybrid work setup; it's great for flexibility as a Software Engineer. When things aren't crazy, the work-life balance is actually pretty good. Plus, the team in the San Francisco office is usually really supportive.
Cons: There are definitely periods where you'll be working way more than 40 hours a week. It's tough to avoid that startup crunch sometimes. This isn't the place if you want a super consistent 9-to-5 for software development roles.
Advice to Management: Please try to manage project scope better. It would help prevent our Software Engineer teams from burning out. Set clearer expectations on busy periods too.
