Application Security Analyst (AI Training)

About The Role

We partner with the world's leading AI research labs to build and train cutting-edge AI models — and we need people who truly understand how software breaks in the real world.

As an Application Security Analyst, you'll work on realistic, production-grade security scenarios to help AI systems learn how to assess, prioritize, and remediate application risk the way an expert would. Your hands-on experience with real vulnerabilities is exactly what's needed to make AI smarter and safer.

  • Organization: Alignerr

  • Location: Remote
  • Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

What You'll Do

  • Review and analyze real-world application security scenarios spanning code, APIs, and system behavior
  • Classify vulnerabilities including authentication flaws, injection risks, access control issues, and business logic weaknesses
  • Evaluate secure coding practices and assess the quality of remediation strategies
  • Create and validate security-focused reasoning datasets that teach AI how to accurately assess application risk
  • Provide structured, expert-level written analysis that AI systems can learn from

Who You Are

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in application, product, or software security
  • Solid understanding of the OWASP Top 10 and common vulnerabilities found in production systems
  • Able to distinguish genuine exploitability from theoretical or low-impact risk
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to reason through security problems clearly and systematically
  • Self-directed and comfortable working asynchronously on task-based assignments

Nice to Have

  • Experience in penetration testing, secure code review, or bug bounty programs
  • Familiarity with threat modeling frameworks or security design patterns
  • Background in cloud-native, API-first, or microservices environments
  • Prior experience working with AI or data labeling workflows

Why Join Us

  • Work directly on frontier AI systems alongside top research labs
  • Fully remote and flexible — work on your own schedule
  • Freelance perks: autonomy, variety, and global collaboration
  • Make a meaningful impact on how AI understands and reasons about cybersecurity
  • Potential for ongoing work and contract extension
