Company Reviews

We help media visionaries create art that colors our perceptions and enriches our culture. We make innovative technology and collaborative tools that inspire and spark joy so creators can entertain, inform, educate and enlighten the world.

We believe in our artists. We believe in our industry leaders. And we believe in the future of entertainment. We have a rich, 30-year history of powering media and
entertainment. But we know our history doesn’t determine our future, so we are always evolving, committed to making good better and better best.

We make many products, but we only do one thing: maximize the mediums of amazing makers. At Avid, every minute, of every day, we are powering greater creators.

Career growth is slow, but decent benefits
Pros: The benefits package is solid, especially for a corporate environment. You get to work on some industry-leading media production tools. There are definitely a lot of smart folks in the engineering roles.
Cons: Career growth isn't prioritized, especially for long-term employees. It's really hard to move up the ladder; internal promotions are rare. You often see them hiring externally for roles that current employees could fill.
Advice to Management: Management really needs to focus on developing and promoting existing employees. Create clear pathways for advancement for those contributing to core media production software. Invest in your current talent instead of always looking outside.

Avid Culture is a Bit Stale
Pros: My team was solid; we worked well together. It's cool to build software for industry-standard media creation technology. For remote software engineer roles, you do get decent work-life balance.
Cons: The corporate environment feels super slow sometimes. There's not much room for fresh ideas for engineering roles. It's hard to feel truly innovative here.
Advice to Management: Try to empower your teams more. Listen to those on the ground floor. We need to be quicker to adapt in the media technology space.
