Decent for Software Engineers, with caveats
Pros: You do get some flexibility with the hybrid work model; my team usually allows WFH a few days a week. The projects can be interesting for a Software Engineer, offering good exposure to different tech stacks. Colleagues are generally pretty supportive too, which helps when things get hectic.
Cons: The workload can swing wildly, making consistent 40-hour weeks a challenge, especially if you're in the IT services industry with tight client deadlines. There's often pressure to work late or on weekends to meet project milestones. Sometimes you feel like you're always catching up, impacting personal time.
Advice to Management: Try to better manage project scopes and client expectations to reduce the last-minute crunch for engineering teams. More consistent workloads would greatly improve overall employee well-being and reduce burnout.

Okay Work-Life Balance for a Big Tech Co.
Pros: Work-life balance here is generally okay, especially with the hybrid work model. As a Software Engineer, I could usually stick to 40-hour weeks. The Dallas, TX office has a good vibe too, making the onsite days pretty chill.
Cons: Sometimes project deadlines mean longer hours, which isn't ideal. It's a big tech company, so processes can feel a bit slow. Vacation requests aren't always approved instantly.
Advice to Management: Try to empower teams more for vacation approvals. It'd boost morale a lot.

Pay is okay, benefits are pretty decent
Pros: The benefits package is definitely a pro. We had good health insurance options and the 401k match was actually solid. For a big tech company, they do a decent job with the non-salary compensation.
Cons: The salary for a Software Engineer in the Dallas, TX market felt a bit low. It was tough to get significant raises, even after performing well. I felt like my pay didn't really keep up with industry standards.
